Farm Call to drive to your farm: $75 for most areas. If you have an emergency, there is an emergency fee in addition to the farm call. Emergency fees are lower for clients who use my services regularly.
Hourly rate: $160/hr with a 30 minute minimum.
A basic, 30-minute visit is $155, which includes the $75 Farm Call fee & our Hourly Rate of $160/hr for 0.5 hours. Materials and supplies are charged in addition to this.
Equine vaccinations, floating, Coggins: A comprehensive annual exam is included with all dental or annual vaccine visits. We evaluate your horse’s general condition, teeth, diet, medications, deworming program, and discuss any ongoing issues. To get your horse’s teeth done, a Coggins test drawn and processed (Global Vet Link digital Coggins results), and vaccines (Rabies, EWT/WNV, and Flu/Rhino) would be about $290 for the first horse and $225 for each additional horse at the same farm (because the travel fee has already been charged to the first horse.) Large barns who share the farm call among many horses average $225 per horse. Additional vaccines are listed in the Spring Pricing PDF.
Annual vaccinations for cattle, small ruminants, and camelids vary by region and use of the animals. For basic backyard livestock, annual vaccinations will run about $15 for goats and sheep, and about $50 per animal for camelids if we are vaccinating against EEE/WEE/WNV, or $15 for tetanus/Clostridial diseases and rabies only. Hoof trimming is available for small ruminants and camelids.
Raw Milk Sales in Vermont are tethered to laws that require brucellosis and tuberculosis testing, as well as an annual rabies vaccine. Tuberculosis testing requires two visits (injection and reading of the injection site.) We charge a $75 farm charge and $160/hr with a min 30 minute farm call fee. This is $155 for a basic, 30 minute visit. TB testing requires two visits so you would have two basic 30 minute visits. Brucellosis is $8 per animal with $40 for postage to Cornell. Rabies vaccines are $12 per animal. We can test 1-20 animals in 30 minutes, depending on restraint. If we have to catch them each from the pasture, it takes longer than if they are all tied and the owner can help restrain them. For 10 animals that are caught and reasonably restrained, it would cost about $500 to get all animals into compliance with raw milk sales requirements.
Owners with larger numbers of animals may wish to purchase Rabies vaccine in bulk which reduces the vaccine cost to $5.90 per animal (20+ animals).
Biosecurity Testing for Small Ruminants. We need to come draw blood, so there is a farm call. If the animals are ready and easy to catch and restrain, about 10 animals can be seen in a 30 min period including paperwork. It is $200-225 in visit fee & testing costs to test the first animal (CAE, CL, Johne’s, Brucellosis) and $40 for each additional animal. Unique identification is required, so for non-tagged/registered animals we need to place an ear tag. This is about $10 per animal.
Emergency fees for daytime, evening, night, and weekend emergencies vary from $50-$200. If we can accommodate your daytime emergency in my schedule, we will not charge you an emergency fee.
